 WYS AGM May 18, 2013

Roll call
Approved minutes
Election of new board members

I voted for Darren Mancini, Ezekiel Soltero, Wayne Jensen.

Risk Management will be done by Mark Skeen from Affinity who will handle the RMA process.

The roll out of the new system will be July 15, 2013.  There will be a link (button) on the WYS site to do this.  Even if you have recently updated you RMA you will have to do it again starting July 15, 2013.

June 8th registrar training at Embassy Suites a good time to come with questions on the process to get the proper people signed up in a timely fashion.

Questions and answers on the how to sign up, individuals and/or batch registration.

What about referees?  There will be a separate way to get RMA cleared through the local referee chapters.

MAR Report

Association Presidents meet for breakfast for a round table discussion on District Wide issues.  We discussed the issue of crossing boundary lines unannounced vs announced.  Not good for Auburn Youth Soccer Association to post signs within Sumner territory without asking.  It was alright for a FME coach to practice in Federal Way, because we asked prior to the practice beginning.

During the AGM we once again held a unified front on issues concerning district 3.  The best part of the AGM was some positive movement from the Select/Recreation Committee that has been lacking in the past.  Kim Caulkins is doing a fine job leading the way.

The process to register teams in District 3 began May 20th.  Go to the District 3 website to gather more information.  Also part of the roll out is the South Counties Soccer League (SCSL) for U11-U14.   This is the attempt to have a league compatible with the NPSL and others that may pop up throughout the state.  The Select/Recreation Committee has an idea to have champions from each type league square off in some type of competition in the future (Champions league or tournament type competition).

We would hope that those teams/clubs, which have recently moved away from District 3, come back to the fold.  The hope is to draw you to the SCSL, where the District is trying to accommodate the desire and needs of the teams who fit that category.  We hope that instead of seeking competition elsewhere; you will stay closer to home and let the competition find you.
